Available Older Puppies
We often will keep back puppies from certain litters or even an entire litter (ESPECIALLY first time crosses) long enough to be able to introduce them to stock, assess them and their level of interest and then find them appropriate homes at that time. We will end up keeping some of them, and selling some of them (although that is always the hardest part for us!) This allows us to gauge how certain pairings are working out and allows us to work with our puppies a bit longer and take the time to introduce them to our goats to evaluate stock sense, desire to please, toughness, tenacity, and herding desire, among other traits. Some of the benefits of buying an older puppy is that you are past some of the "little puppy" stages and you are able to evaluate the puppy for working desire and other traits and have a much better idea of what the puppy has the potential to become! Our "older puppies" are usually between 3 to 7 months of age.
This Spring, we intentionally kept back several brothers from a litter to watch how they developed, turned on to stock, and to begin basic training with them. WE LOVE THEM ALL! They have been introduced to lambs- and ALL IMMEDIATELY went right to work. While we will be keeping back a couple of them perhaps longer term- we dont know/care which of them we keep! They are all SUPER nice pups. They love children, are well socialized, walking well on leashes, have all of their puppy shots, and are willing and friendly!
Feel free to contact us with ANY questions, if you would like video of any of them, or want to come work them with us to pick from the boys!

MISR Mike - SALE PENDING
This little guy has been put on sheep twice and thinks he is the toughest dog in the world. He went right to work and has ZERO fear. He is personable and driven and really wants to be a tough working dog but would be able to channel that drive and intensity into anything! He would make a great working dog- but also a great dog sport dog as well!
He is walking well on his leash and loves everyone! |
